In this lesson, I taught how to create a basic sheath dress pattern sloper with ease. I demonstrated how to trace the muslin pieces, draw the darts, and make necessary adjustments. I also explained how to modify the pattern for different dress styles, including sheath, shift, and boxy silhouettes.

Lesson Steps:

  1. Trace muslin pieces onto dot paper
  2. Draw and adjust darts for front and back pieces
  3. Mark dart points and widths
  4. Check and adjust side seams
  5. Add ease and make necessary corrections
  6. Draw and smooth hemline
  7. Add information and markings to the pattern
  8. Explain modifications for different dress styles (sheath, shift, boxy)
  9. Add seam allowances
  10. Label pattern pieces with necessary information
