In this lesson, I taught how to create the pattern for a surplice top with pleats. I demonstrated the process of transferring the draped pieces onto paper, including how to mark and fold the pleats, adjust darts, and ensure proper fit and symmetry.

Lesson Steps:

  1. Transfer draped pieces onto paper using a tracing wheel
  2. Mark and fold pleats using color-coded lines
  3. Adjust and shift darts for proper fit
  4. Check and correct side seams and symmetry
  5. Match front and back pieces at shoulders and sides
  6. Add ease and seam allowances
  7. Finalize pattern pieces with notches and markings
  8. Double-check all measurements and adjustments
  9. Add pattern information (size, cut instructions, etc.)

Remember to bring your pattern pieces when sewing to ensure accurate construction of the surplice top.
